How do your wheels sound when spinning?

I started listening to my wheels spin when trying to reduce any friction. My smart-ass girlfriend enjoys commenting when I spin the wheels and hold the car to my ear.

Anyway…

John built a car for me that I use as my gold standard against my cars. (I have never even come close to his build-quality but spending my way there, hopefully).

When I spin the wheels on his car, it sounds like oil silently flowing through a plastic tube; when I spin my wheels, it sounds like a coffee can of nuts and bolts being kicked down the stairs.

Do you guys audio-tune your cars?

There has always been at least a light fluttering when I hold it close. If it is more of a buzz I pull it and inspect.

My Street Stock is somewhat noisy when the wheel rides against the head of the axle. It sounds like a light fluttering. I have always thought that was the Jig that dried under the head of the axle even though I shake the axles to get the drips to fall from the head of the axle.
