Not picking on anyone in particular, but how much of the Forum has everyone read?

I've read greater than 90%

I would say it would be difficult for me to read 90% of all of the posts on this forum.

37,300 posts * 90% = 33,570

I marked 75%, which the more I think about it, is probably inaccurate as well; however, a better question might be: How many people use the "SEARCH" feature before posting a question.

My answer -> 100%

The search feature is probably the most valuable on this forum. Especially when one topic leads to others.

I always use the new post feature when I check in. Honestly there has been such a nice influx of new members that post, I may miss a few details lately. The growth has been great.

I have no idea. I've been following this forum near daily for over two years. So, a lot.

While the search is very helpful, it is also consternating as I have a deep affection for Street Rod, and "Rod" and "SR" are too short of terms to search on. So, a search for "Street Rod" turns up results for Street Stock, Street Pro, street walker, etc.

----------

And for those asking, "Well, where is your Street Rod, Eric?!" I've realized that my drill job in the rear is toed out. So, sending my car in would only be for show, since it certainly wouldn't be competing. /images/boards/smilies/frown.gif Once I've gotten my MS Cert, I'll be able to play with my toys again, and will then have several cars to send in. SR and BASX.

I would say that I have read (and Posted) a bunch...BUT apparently I havent read enough when looking at my race stats????

I think I read it all. (2) months worth of daily reading. When done I got sad because it was so fun to have my eyes opened by almost every thread. Its possible to have missed something. I'll say 90% sounds good.

I pretty much look at everything each day. Problem: Too much really good stuff buried in postings with piles of nonsensical crap. Wish we could completely eliminate all junk postings in just one or two good subject areas. I have suggested to several dads at BSA events this forum. I constantly get the answer that it is too large to find the good advice postings. I suggest all back and forth postings between builders and other unrelated posts be removed from FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS. Maybe create another category beneath FREQ ASK QUES and transfer all non-related postings into that section. That way the back and forth posts could still exist, and be seen on a daily basis, but not included in the real TEETH forum subject areas.

Guilty!

I hear what you are saying OPA and I agree where the forum I think has more than doubled in the last year it has added an extra layer to filter.

I am also a member of another "relatively small" forum that is basicly all down to business. The same core group checks in everday to see that there is nothing new posted and then check out.

Not saying number of hits a day equal success, but 4 to 5 thousand hits a day compared to 40 or 50 means something. There have also been some real good tips, especially the last six months that just popped into the middle of some nonsense.

I am not disagreeing with you assessment at all, the same thought has croosed my mind.

I've read probably over 95% of what's here. If there's a post that's more than a couple of small paragraphs, I skim it or skip it all together. There are very few subjects in PWD that can't be answered in a few sentences. If you have a post that covers a page it's to long. IMHO

Is that with or without all the badges?
