this is the 2nd year in PWD for my son and I. I've been doing alot of research and can't beleive it took me so long to find this board. Luckily, I saw alot of great information on the 5kidsracing site and it pointed me over here. With a bit of reading, I've learned quite a bit more already.

One of the things I did right was to purchase the Silver Bullet last year and we used it this year to build our car. I'm still learning to use it better as we build more cars.

We won our pack race again this year and hope to do better at the district race this year. We built a 3 wheel rail runner and I think there are some more things we can do to be better for the district race.

One of the things I've not done in the past is "lock down" the lifted wheel.

What is the best way to lock that wheel down? Just push the axle in as far as we can? Given the axle is glued in place, that may no longer be an option.

We are building some new cars for the mid america race this year and it will be the first time we've mailed in cars for a race or raced in any event outside of our pack and district.

thanks for any tips.

Are we talking lock down like not spinning? wouldn't that slow it down if it did come into contact with track?

Cool 5kids. new one for me. Also I would like to thank you for your sites pack work night ideas. I'm doing a girl scout work night in three weeks and it gave me a few ideas. I'm thinking it's going pretty heavy for most of them cause it will be the first race for several families. As I'm helping more with the cub scouts, this will help most of the boys considerably. The son and I need to master some of these things first

Still, we have always helped anyone who asked. Now if I could get a couple of them to file the burrs off the axle. I just really feel bad for a couple of boys who haven't crossed the finish line yet after three years of racing.
