Hello All

Helping my son with his derby car right now.
He really likes the " body wrap" that QuickTime had sent me for the team race.
Very cool sticker/decal.
Can anyone help me with how to go about making them.
I have an iMac for a computer if that matters one way or another.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Kurt

Kurt,
I thought I emailed you back, sorry man. The wraps for the team car were printed on vinyl, as far as I know you got to have some serious equipment for it. You should be able to design something and e-mail it to a sign and print shop in your local area and have them print it off for you. When your designing a print remember to take in the whole surface area being covered, top sides. Make sure your design isn't larger that the top area of the car.

There are other options also like waterslides. Don't know much about them, but there are some post on here about them.

I have used Testors Clear and White water slides.

Now it’s easy to produce your own quality decals with a PC and an ink jet printer. The new Testor Custom Decal Maker allows the model builder to produce high quality decals for any of their model projects. By using the included image database, modelers can choose anything from car flames and graphics to license plates and aircraft markings. Once an image is chosen the modeler can add text, change the color or adjust the images to their needs. An upgrade CD can be bought for only $9.99 which will allow the modeler to import photos and a free form section so modelers can design their own decals for a personalized touch. The upgrade CD can be found at www.decalgear.com The Custom Decal Maker includes two sheets of 5.5” X 8.5” decal paper one clear and one white, 1 3oz. Can of Decal Bonder and one CD that include the software and designs.

No worries QuickTime .
Thanks for the info guys.
I will do a little more research on this one.

The waterslide decals work real nice - but they can tear easily - so it takes practice and patience. I purchased my decal paper from decalpaper.com . The paper is MUCH better then the paper that comes in the testors kit. TangoPapa is another good source, but be patient if ordering from them - they took quite a while to respond.

With practice you can wrap a waterslide over down the sides - to do this you need to use an exacto blade to make some relief cut in the decal though.

Here are some examples of cars that I have built with waterslides:

Thanks
I will have to try the paper from decalpaper.com. The Testors paper does tear very easily.
