Humidity effect on speed

Yesterday I did some testing on the same cars I ran last month. All of them were slower. We have had quite a bit of rain the last couple of weeks and the humidity was high. I'm curious to know how much effect humidity has had on others when testing their cars.

I think the more humid the air is the heavy it is and therefore may have a slight effect on times as the car cuts through this heavier air. My 2 cent thought.

I agree. Humidity does seem to affect my car speeds !!! I don't do any tuning or testing on humid days, because I don't want to feel bad

....SPIRIT.... And I think today is a good day for me to do some tuning

This topic has got me thinking...
There was another post on humidity and it's affect on preps during shipping, but I couldn't find it. I have been thinking about this and thought I would share an experiment with y'all using humidity indicator strips on two cars.
At work we do some sensitive tests, and if the humidity indicator turns pink with the products we would use for the tests, we don't use them.
For this experiment in one car I have placed the indicator strip and a humidity maintaining packet with a shipping box in a zip lock bag, and in the second shipping box a humidity indicator only. I will let them sit for one week and report the results. I guess the point of this test is if when storing and shipping prepped cars if it would help to place your shipping container in a zip lock bag using humidity maintaining packets. I guess anything to help our preps last longer would be a good thing. I hope this works...

The results are in and I must say that I was surprised. I'll put some pictures below but both cars (one in a ziploc bag and the other not in a bag) gave the same results. The humidity indicator strips ended up exactly the same after one week which shows that the bag and humidity maintaining packet made no difference. Sorry fellas.
I'm not ready to throw in the towel on this one, so if I find something I'll let y'all know. Before that I guess I'll focus my efforts on making my cars faster. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif
Cheers.
