Which is better to use, Sally Henson or Monokote as a friction plate? I have to do a cub build and did not want to test several versions for a scout race. Unfortunately, washers, Teflon strips, etc. are not allowed. Yeah, I'm being lazy...

I like using vinyl or monokote. it is way faster and I use a little red rocket at the spot that the hub could rub

I have used multiple coats of a spray on sanding sealer, sanded between coats, repeating until the sides of the car are really smooth. Then multiple coats of RR.

You could use packing tape also. Works great!! Spread some red rocket on it and done. Works great for a scout car and is very LAZY.
