Just have to relay this story. My son had his pack race this past Saturday. His car would jump repeatedly at the junctions where the track sections come together. Sometimes, the car would jump the rail, causing a pile up at the end of the track past the finish line. Other cars would jump as well but not as bad. The told the scoutmaster that there was a problem with the track. He insisted that the problem was with my son’s car, which really made my blood boil!! In the end, my son hoisted the pack championship trophy in spite of all of the adversity.
When the race was over and the track was disassembled, I noticed that the little metal dowels/pins that go into the ends of the track sections and aligned the track were NEVER PUT IN!!!! I brought this to the attention of the scoutmaster while trying to keep my composure. You can imagine the look on his face when he realized his error.
So, here’s another feather in the cap for DD4H products. Not only are they the best on the market, but they are now proven tough as nails as well. How my son’s car made it through the race in one piece while taking that physical abuse, I’ll never know. It certainly now has some bumps, bruises, scratches and dents but the damage is not bad enough to prevent him from looking ahead to the district race in a couple of months. His car is still wicked fast!!
Thanks John and everyone else for your helpful tips and guidance.
