Hi folks,

So this was our second year racing with out cub scout. Last year you guys helped us find a third at the pack level and then a 5th at district. So this year we had posted again and with your help we refined our build even more. Negative cant rear wheels, positive front railride . Center of mass to the rear landed about 3/4" in front of the rear axel. So we went into the pack race in march with high hopes. As expected it was a tough fight between the four time winner at the pack level and our guy. Neck and neck. When the smoke cleared he just edged him out for First place at the pack level. One really happy guy. So we didn't do much to the car prior to district just graphite and final tuning checks. So on to district today. Lot of fast cars you can tell folks are reading up online and using speed tips. They ran six runs and when his time came he was clearly near the top. However the same boy who won last years district was just a slight bit faster. So holding hope we noticed that his car was getting slightly faster and the other car a little slower. Then almost disaster he dropped his car on the way back to the holding area. He comes back Its all good dad nothing wrong we go take a quick look and sure enough whew nothing off. He then proceeds to run his fastest time of the night. He is jazzed. But it was not to be, he ended up just off the mark and landed in second place at districts. He is thrilled he is carrying his trophy around the house as I type this to you all.

A big thank you for all the tips on this forum and your help and encouragement. He is already talking about next year and how he wants to just do a wedge and make it even faster. Other then the wedge there isn't much more we can do he made his car like and eagle this year so real thin in the front and higher in the back so a slight disadvantage there but other then that couldn't have done it much better!!

Thank you all
