Soooo after discovering PWDOL my eyes have just about fallen out from so much reading...not that this question is relevant to anything but to settle my currious mind... ive seen several older post about scouts building a "new car" for districts...is this the norm? My son was new to scouting last year and yes his first derby got me hooked...(hence me being here)...the reason i ask is after he swept the competion at pack level his car was "impounded" by the den leader (whos sons finished second and third at pack level) and we did not see the car again until we arrived at the district race...i was a bit perplexed because the two events had different rules that couldve been advantageous at districts that could not be utilized at pack level. we were told that the pack race was a "qualifier" for districts and we had to use the same car...hence the impound...we happily raced his car as we believed it was as fast as we could make it, but knowing what i know now he did pretty well with 4 touching wheels in stock slots racing three wheeling 1/4" shingles with extended wheelbases.... the past is the past and it really doesnt matter because we made memories just the same... and i know this is not a scout forum but is building a second car the norm for district and a third for council and a fourth for whatever step is after that?
