SINCE THE THREAD IS LOCKED, I JUST WANTED TO ADD ONE THING TO DADDIO'S SUPERB ADVICE !!
IT PERTAINS TO OIL PROCESS BEING DRY BY THE TIME YOU RACE.
FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS AT MY SONS PACK/DISTRICT RACES WE DID THE OIL PROCESS BUT JUST DID NOT ADD THE OIL TO THE PROCESS. NOW WE ALL KNOW THE OIL IS A KEY PART OF THE PROCESS, BUT IN TESTING THE PROCESS ( MINUS THE OIL ) AGAINST ONE OF MY STREET STOCK CARS ON GRAPHITE, THE OILESS CAR WAS JUST A TICK FASTER TO THE FINISH LINE THAN THE GRAPHITE CAR. BUT BY THE TIME WE GOT TO PASS #4 THE GRAPHITE CAR STARTED TO FALL OFF AND THE DD4H PROCESS WITHOUT OIL STAYED CONSISTENT THUS WINNING BY OVER HALF OF A CAR LENGTH.
ONE THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT THIS WAS DONE USING JIG-A-L00, AND ONE HAS TO UNDERSTAND HOW THAT STUFF WORKS. A PENETRANT/LUBRICANT GOES ON WET...PENETRATES...THEN IT DRIES TO ABOUT 95% ON THE SURFACE. IT WILL RELEASE THE GOODIES FROM THE AXLE ONCE FRICTION IS INTRODUCED BETWEEN THE INNER WHEEL BORE AND THE AXLE WHEN THE CAR RUNS. KEEP IN MIND IF YOU HAVEN'T PROTECTECTED THE INNER HUB AS EXPLAINED IN DADDIO'S INSTRUCTIONS YOU WILL RUN THE RISK OF DOING DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL AND SLOW THE CAR DOWN.

ALBEIT, TAKE A LOOK AT MY STREET PRO CAR, IT WAS PREPPED IN LATE NOVEMBER....WITH THE PROCESS & OIL, AND IT MAY NOT BE WINNING, BUT IT CONTINUES TO BE COMPEDITIVE JUSTIFYING WHAT JOHN POSTED IN THE "HOW TO" THREAD. THAT CAR'S WHEELS/AXLES HAVE BEEN BONE DRY FOR 3 OR 4 MONTHS NOW. ANOTHER TESTAMENT TO THE FACT THAT PAPA JOHN KNOWS HIS STUFF!!!
