It is worth every penny! I am brand new to league racing and in my first league race finished 2nd in the Box Stock class and finished 12th and 13th in the BASX AM division and will be improving quickly thanks to Kinser's mentoring program.

I seen that. This post is more of boredom, checking the forums every hour and no new post. Kinda slow at work today. No one has to PM me their tricks. But if you go in a plane crash it would be good to have them saved for future reference.

Once I manage to break 3 seconds for Box Stock, I'll write up everything I did. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I'd encourage anybody interested in league racing to give BS a try. I actually had fun working with those terrible BSA axles.

If I get into league racing for sure this the way to go, but right now I am just a scout dad spending hours and hours reading every forum from 2013 to date. Building and testing till I can not take it anymore and join a league.

I would encourage you to build a Box Stock and send it in to race. They race every month and it is a great way to work on your building skills without a lot of money invested and you will be amazed at your skills when the scout races roll around again. It is also a blast to watch your car race against the best builders on the live feed.

I got some ideas in my bag o' tricks that I hope to employ on my next outing.

Of course, with my luck, I'll slow the dang car down. /images/boards/smilies/frown.gif

Once/if I break 3, though, I'll detail everything I did. Nothing earth shattering, but might serve as a point-of-reference for information gathering purposes.

I had a great idea. I might need to run in the snail race. Working on some ideas to see if they work or not. You never know what you might find if you just keep trying.

The only way to get fast is build alot of cars and refine your technique

+1

I am building a couple of new BASX cars for the July race. Working at getting my wheel and axle prep better.

He's right. Enter more than one car as well, because you will learn that much more quickly. For instance, I was glad I entered more than one car in BASX AM this last time because the car which was supposed to be my ringer went out and laid an egg, so my "backup" car at least got me into the finals.
