LETS GET A CAR COUNT FOR NATIONALS AT MID AMERICA

Any Updates from any of you out there ? Also I would encourage you to get signed up at www.midamericaderby.com - If you are going to be racing any Cub Scout - Adult or Kids or Big Rig cars...

Also just a point of clarification - for our Graphite Only Divisions -- You can ONLY Run Graphite - thus the Graphite Only rule - The Committee's current opinion is that you will have to add graphite to your car in front of one of our inspectors at time of check in. If you are running Coaches Lube or other lubricants -- you will race in the Oil Division - as our rules clearly outline. If you want to run, oil, coaches lube, or other lubricants race in the oil divisions - there are many to choose from.

That's a great idea to catch the secret oil users!!

Yeah there was some last year. Who teaches their kids to cheat during a scouting event.

Sounds good, If we proxy should I put some graphite in the "main" shipping box? I just registered 7 cars ( 3 open scout graphite and 4 open kids). They will all be using the same graphite (DD4H).

Great question -- a proxy car gives us officials a bit more of a chance to check things out... however yes - I would recommend including a little graphite with any instructions - as we do allow if you want to have an official (or yourself if you are live) to re-graphite prior to finals. Additionally sometimes when shipping a graphite car... it is a good idea to re-graphite as the shipping can shake it out... completely your call -- just indicate with instructions what you would like us to do on your proxy instruction sheet.

Thanks for the reply, I did not know that race officials would re-graphite. We could have used some last year. I thought you could only re-graphite if you were there live.

Hey guys I was just looking at some of the entries that we have so far - -it appears that the Cub Scout Divisions along with the Adult and Kids race are shaping up to be a really competitive race... I know that many of you have Cub Scouts - this is a race that they do not want to miss... Also we have not seen many Big Rig Entries -- I am sure that many of you have made Big Rig / Semi Pinewood Derby Kits -- show off your craftsmanship and enter this race... it will be lots of fun - there are still a few slots left to be the first 100 entries that go into a drawing for a new Best Track

Greg, I registered already do I have to pay now or can I pay when I get there? How is the corporate race looking? Also is alright to registered for the corporate race that day or how late can we register for that race?

Great question AC - if you Pre-Register you get the Pre-Registered Price and you can indeed pay at check in... The Corporate Event is actually looking really good, because we do give our Corp Pinewood Derby Racers Special VIP Treatment - along with lots of great opportunity to Promote your Company -- so when you get a chance send me an email to [email protected] and I will send over all the Corporate Information to you.

It is a little weird for us to register now for an April race when most haven't yet registered for our own March race - but I went ahead and did that last night. I had to make up names for two cars that I haven't even built yet ! Hoping we can tweak the names later.
