i am racing regular wheels in open class for fun of it,are there any tricks i can use to get more speed out of them besides cutting down,i already use dd4h products.

RA as in Derby worx wheels? pardon the language guys. If so, here is the trick..don't use them. Not because I am bad mouthing D.W. products, it's just that they aren't near as good as a DD4H wheel!!!! If I am mistaken on the"R A" & you were referring to something else, I apologize.

You are mistaken.

RA stands for Royal Ambassadors

Which is primarily run in Baptist Church pinewood derby.

To answer the question for Rick, there are some vendors out that make the RA styled wheels. Some are just merely lightened while others have been lathe turned down in to razor style wheels. The razor styled RA wheels will give you your fastest possible result for many reasons.

1. They are lighter which will allow you to take weight off your wheels and put it into the weighting of the car in the location you would prefer it to be.

2. The narrow tread design allows for fall less friction on the track which again will help get you speed from your car.

Good luck with your build
