Has anyone looked inside a large cup from McDonalds? Put some water in one and see how it reacts. You think it got any PWD applications?

+1 Paul. It used to be waxed, like the inside of a cardboard milk carton. I haven't been to a McDonalds in years, have no idea what they're doing these days.

Many speed waxes start with paraffin and add Teflon, and or Moly and or Graphite and or Silicone to them.
Water proof is paraffin or silicone ( that is where Jig a loo started)

For those of you that like testing stuff should go invest a $1 and get a drink. I have one that will be getting cut up!

I am sure they'll let you have a free empty cup /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

I would assume it would be food grade silicone or wax. Originally I thought you were talking about the plastic cups. I thought those were the large. May differ depending on the franchise.

You know where this leads, don't you?

I googled "mcdonald's cup inside coating" and got this, from McDonald's, where someone asked them what they were coated with:
Hi Andre. The inside of our hot and cold beverage cups is coated with a polyethylene so that the coffee doesn't soak into the paper and/or leak. Packaging designed to be in contact with food or beverages is governed by the Canadian Food & Drug Regulations. They state that such packages may not contain any substance that may be harmful to the health of a consumer of the food. So you can rest assured that any McDonald's packaging complies with these regulations and is completely safe.
