I have a few questions regarding the national pinewood derby. When I go to http://www.midamericaderby.comv I get scout classes, big rig classes, etc. When I go to http://pinewoodderbychampionships.com I get normal NPWDRL classes. Are they they same race? Are the pinewood derby championships just a section of the mid america derby?

My other question is: I would like to make a car to send in, but my son would also like to send in his recent scout car. He won his pack, but it's not even in the same realm as NPWDRL league caliber cars. Can I send two cars in one package even though one is for the pinewood derby championship and the other is for the scout class?

Thanks! I'm in a time crunch to get a car done so I'm trying to make sure everything else will go smoothly.

Both events are happening at the same time and same place, mid America is for scouts, Nationals are for the league racers, yes you can send both yours and your sons to the same place, you can race leauge and he can race in open scout division against other scouts. Hope that helps.

Yes you can send in a car to both in one package. The National Championships are being held in conjunction with the MA derby. In the past the MA's had open scout and adult classes as well as a few pro classes. This year the NPWDRL is hosting all the pro classes as the National Championships. There is still one adult graphite class under MA. You could use graphite in the National Championship classes but most everyone will be using oil.

I will be doing the same as you sending my scout's car with my own. You just need to register on each respective registration page. Just clearly mark which car is which in the box and it will get where it needs to be.
