My son and I live in the Harrisburg/Reading, PA area(also close to Baltimore) and are looking for someone that can help teach us how to build a fast car. The goal is to win the Scouts District Race next year and maybe enter into some adult races just for fun. We know some of the basics but want to go to the next level. Anyone willing to help us build a car?

We have used DD4H and will be getting the video. I can't say enough good things about John.

A lot of this will probably be letting us do the work and telling us what we did wrong and need to do for the next step.

This will be a graphite project for Scouts. My racing partner is seven.

Thanks!

You came to the right place. There is plenty of people here with the knowledge to give you alll the help you need and there is also many posts on here that has really good ino for you to use. All new racers should check out the going sub 3.0 topic. It is the real base for a fast car and will probably answer a lot of your questions. Here is a link to the post.

First welcome to the forum, you are on the right track. After you get the DD4H video you will have a better grasp of what makes a fast car. We are here to help and I'm looking forward to following your progress.

One thing that will save you a lot of time, and increase your chances for top racing times.

BUY A COUPLE OF PRE-DRILLED BLOCKS FROM DD4H

Unless you have an extreamly accurate drill like PROXXON, drilling holes, even with the BLOCK is difficult with the drill presses normally available.

The 2 rear wheels must be ABSOLUTELY parallel to the body and the track.
Correcting deviations that normally occur when using normally available drill presses can be difficult and sometimes futile. Correcting the normally occurring deviations by bending the axle, even very slight bends, will work for BSA racing, but never in league racing.
