Our District was split into two over the summer. Our District PWD Chair ended up in the other District. Sooo, I was voluntold that I am the new District PWD Chair. We are starting from scratch, no equipment suppies etc. I am proposing in my budget two scales instead of one. One for the Pit area to pre-weigh and one for Official Check in. In the past the two scales have been so far off that it was impossible to get the scales to weight close to each other. What Scale brand and type would you all recommend? They will need to be the type that come with calibration weights. Thanks!

Theoretically, if you have a pair of calibration weights, the scales don't actually matter, since you can put the weights on the scales, zero them out, and then just check to be sure that no car weighs more than "0" on the scale.

Ideally, you should use identical scales for both areas. Just to eliminate one possible area of contention.

The official BSA scales are available at the BSA site, but they're not terribly cheap.

There are some decent offerings for scales on Amazon. Example.

Max-V sells the 5oz test weights.
