New Basx for Fire Series

I like these sleeper looking cars that don't have the technicolor paint or extravagant graphics but are just built with speed in mind. Is that balsa in the center or just a thin cover?
How about "Skid Mark". No offense.
 
Picked up some Bombay Mahogany stain in the Wal-Mart discount bin and this is how it turned out after a light sanding. The 2 center cutouts are balsa and the inner rib is an oversized matchstick cut to size.

Now if only BSA could release some brown colored wheels, then I could call it Mr. Hankey/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

Well that's a relief. Was hoping he didn't have to tear his car apart. Couldn't tell if it was attached or not by the picture. It does look good.
