New breakthrough

This will not be a forever secret! In time it will be out. "give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach him how to fish and he will eat forever!" This has yet to be proven in a league race will will see how it does the next race and go from there. Some who have shared with me, in time it will be reciprocated. Their are a few here that I would very much like to share the process with. I will give you a hint. For most builders on here the answer to the question you already have.

You don't want to be Harold or even Bilbo for that matter... and Bobby and Willy who were once nice to each other may not be so nice one day.... The moral of the story is to race, have fun, make friends and be helpful to the new guys. With hard work everybody's day will come and paying the price for not working hard and going around the system sucks and divides everybody.

BINGO, thank you 5 Kids for being eloquent.

You chaps amaze me. It really is not so frilly. I shant share a smidgeon of info when I tan thy posteriors. Racing mobiles is about dominance, not sharing like little frilly sheilas.

I don't see why it should be so important to share either. I have been around pinewood derby boards for a while now and the ones that preach it is all about sharing are the last ones to actually share helpful information that they discovered. As for Bilbo, Sammy, Teddy and whoever, I agree with 5 Kids it is about having fun racing. I have never seen a pinewood secret kept.

I have held a number of "work shops", mostly for BSA fathers, but serious racers also.
I have printed out about 90% of my secrets, but aside from others having the knowledge
The question is: Will they put in the time and effort, even though they have all the secrets?

In my experience, only 1 in 20 will put in the required effort.

E.g. how many will spend 8 hours or so just to prepare wheel bores and axle polishing, even though almost every detail is posted in this forum?

8 hours???
eeek
I can build cars for all the classes in that amount of time!!!

What I said was really in jest. That's why the smilie is there. You never know I could have participated in the thread. /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

Just so you all know. It is not just one thing changed or improved in this new process. There is one key component, and than several other small tweaks. But like I said everything in this new process has been talked about here through out the board. I can't wait for the race in a few weeks hopefully they perform as well in traffic as they do on their own. The new process does seem to favor the BSA wheeled cars much more than the eliminator type wheels, while they pick up also not as much as the BSA wheeled cars.

I understand what OPA is referencing to as to effort. I made that mistake myself (not putting the effort forward) this weekend. Fortunatly, I only lost track time to tuning. It was a good lesson for me.

Oh my goodness. I have just come from the Godfathers and the speed is unreal. It took some begging and pleading but in time I was able to examine the car from the video. Checked the weight, length, wheels and front of the car. It is clear to race. The blasted thing just kept laying down consistent and faster times. The seceret to the speed is the process is what master Yoda himself told me. Read all threads you must to unlock the speed. So since I don't have light years to prepare for the next race..... I'm hoping the force will be strong with this one. Oh and the Jedi master wheel prep training I received....

I told you it was legit!

hmmm
Looks like it might be time to make a weekend trip to the Godfather's Den of Mastery for some "Jedi master wheel prep" as Mr. Chips said so eloquently.

Am I the only one that saw Mr. Butterhole is back? Anyway, everyone always wants to know he new exciting faster trick. I for one don't. Takes away from doing my own testing and experimenting. What's the fun if someone always tells you what to do? What if you were the one to come up with this breakthrough... Would you just go tell everyone right away? Prolly not. You'd probably dominate for a little while first. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif
