New idea for Man of the Mountain 2014 series this fall

hmmm

The reason I would say no is. Advantage to, live racers !! Unless tuning not allowed on different length track set-up each month.
hmmm
....SPIRIT......

I think most of use here right now could tune up to the 49' length track. But the 63' track, I think we would need some baselines for that length. In other words, if you alone, done some testing on the 63' length you could then give us the baseline on where we need to start our cars. i.e. you need to start the car with 3" steer for the SS, 3.5" for SP, etc... Or no one tests/tunes on the 63' length and everyone goes in blind. It would be interesting for sure.

I could be completely wrong in this, but I am guessing fastest tune on a 42' track will be equal to the 63'. What do you guys think?

Addition:
I do think this would be interesting as I feel every car will react differently to the distance. I think it would mix things up and would be awesome to see what would happen. I like how it relates to real mountain climbing also.

Tre. I don't think my car would go 63 ft. It don't have enough speed for that. Getting ready for April race try it again!!!

I haven't voted yet, but Like Spirit says, "if no tuning allowed on league track", it would certainly mix things up a bit. Add a fun factor.

Is there on track tuning allowed for live participants before the races now? If so that seems like a unfair advantage to some of us that live over 20 hours away.

So very true. /images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif Just so you no I am not complaining at all about it. I am just new and trying to figure it all out. I have a long way to go before it even makes a difference to me.

Just rethinking this MOTM track concept. Maybe a good compromise would be just no track tuning at the finals on the longer track set-up. I think we can all handle the shorter track set-ups. Its the longer one that is the kicker. Then it would be interesting at the finals who could guess correctily on the right set-up. Would be fun and exciting for sure !!...What do you think Kinser "with no track ".....SPIRIT.....

I don't like the idea of different track lengths.

MOTM to me means the best PW racer. What we use all year long is what we should use in this race.

If you decide to use a different track length anyway, just add only one more section.
That way, I think a winning 42' car would still be the fastest at 50' or 52'

I have also had the same thought as OPA's and respect this opinion greatly. Still havn't voted.

A compromise just popped. One race weekend, maybe part of MOTM or not, Run only SS's no PRO/AM/NOV, and run each length track One weekend. One disadvantage is Guys with track couldn't tune for each length. Could do points or something like MOTM or spring series to pick winner, could do by owner or car, or fleet.

Sounds like a Street Stock Shootout!
