New idea for Man of the Mountain 2014 series this fall

I like the idea of all the different lengths in the same weekend. That's more runs, lets see whose prep holds!

I still have not sent in my first car to race, (so my opinion doesn't mean a lot)but I think DD4H is trying to make it exciting.

The only thing i would add is-

No one knows the length of the track until that morning. Not even DD4H. Track randomly selected by a random stranger at the hotel.

No tuning at hotel.

Just rethinking this MOTM track concept. Maybe a good compromise would be just no track tuning at the finals on the longer track set-up. I think we can all handle the shorter track set-ups. Its the longer one that is the kicker. Then it would be interesting at the finals who could guess correctily on the right set-up. Would be fun and exciting for sure !!...What do you think Kinser "with no track ".....SPIRIT.....

I appreciate where you're coming from on this and I appreciate that you understand where I'm coming from. That would probably work. I am however a guy that doesn't like a lot of change. I like consistency. I do think that the car that wins at 42' will most likely win at 63' but I could be wrong.

I have to disagree. This would find out who has the best hold on PWD. Evey track would require something different as far as steer, weigh placement and such. It would make it more like NASCAR. You would have to setup for each race. I am just trying to shake things up a little. It would offer more of chance to shake up the standings. It was just an idea. That is why most people quit because it gets stale and they feel like they have no chance to win.

Is it feasible to do 2 timers and then everyone could be happy? Those that are still mastering 42 can get their times and maybe discover they are better suited for other lengths.

Personally since I have been testing via the races I am less enthusiastic about changes to length but I do like the opportunity to mix it up.

I am like IAE, have not voted yet. Still reading everyone's input and deciding.

NASCAR does race on different size tracks. However, they also get to test on both short and long tracks during the off season. This enables then to be ready when the season kicks off and some teams still haven't figured it out when the season kicks off. I think switching up track lengths would have more draw backs than pluses except for maybe the seasoned fast guys. If there was just one race on non standard track during the season that might work. However, I think the season kick-off and ending races should be run on a 42' track. JMO

I'm neutral on the whole thing.

I would rather keep track length mostly the same, but if you want to change it all the time, so be it. There is no way I am going to have time to try and adjust for it though. I barely can find time to get a couple of cars to the races these days as-is.
