New plastic fenders

has anyone tried the new fenders on a scout car this year havent seen much posting of them bought a set for my sons car this season and he is sanding away on his car my question is i see pictures of cars of only having two fenders instead of four which produces better track times two or four fender cars any input would greatly help thanks
