Newbie question on Air Compressors

So there has been a lot of talk about Air Compressors on the site the last few days - curious what the primarily uses are in the pinewood derby build process. Always looking for an excuse to buy a new tool.

Also, in the absence of an air compressor does canned air or other solutions work well enough?

I can hook up my vacuum to blow air. Using the crevice tool taped to funnel air even tighter to clear out the wheel bores. Lint is a killer for oil racing when people are fighting over 0.0001seconds.
