I didn’t race all of the different classes at APR because of all of the different wheel requirements in each class. It was overwhelming trying to keep track of the wheels. The Runt class has been added. Slight changes in Hot Rod. Too many classes are overwhelming. The PRO class covers engulfs the multiple classes from APR that were slight wheel weight differences. I ran the largest league races ever in the NPWDRL and the one thing I learned was more classes does not mean more participation. It is overwhelming and discourages new racers. You can look back and see a clear decline in every league that kept adding classes.
We will also be giving monthly awards to the class winners in the next series.
I haven't had time to build but i think it would be fun to have what you call a true scout class made. It would be interesting to see what happens if it was required to used the wheels and nails that come with the kit. This might not be popular but i would love to see a true scout class made. Rules similar to BASX AM. However no oil graphite only. Only use 4 3/8 axle spacing. I'm torn on axle slots because i hate them, but all scout races I've been to require it. I feel it would be a great challenge for the guys that have been building for a while and would be something different and truly many close races.
I know some folks complain that the graphite gets on the track. Oil can also but if that's a concern have that class run last of all the races.
