The October Race was the best organized race yet, and with a few hurdles that had to be overcome.
Some of the reasons it went so well with 200 cars is:
1 - A single individual talented Stager, quickly staged all cars. I didn't see any thing to complain about staging cars this way, and it greatly reduced the time in-between races.
2 - The elimination of the Lunch hour. We all just ate "on the go".
3 - Two individuals (mostly John's young daughters) quickly picked up and returned the cars to the starting gate.
4 - The two persons handling the cars to Joel (the stager) worked quickly and efficiently. I think there were only two re-runs all day.
5 - The layout between the large car table (which was U shaped for speedy access), to the Pending Table (which contained the next race and the 3rd behind it) was right nest to the staging platform. One guy handed the cars to Joel (the stager who put the cars on the track). Joel was able to concentrate on the actual car setup in front of the starting pin, whistled to John (filming the event), who called out to Dennis, who punched the start button, and the cars were on the way. VERY WELL DONE AND ORGANIZED.
6 - I (and the few others) just sat comfortably and watched the proceedings. But we need those nice plush couches back!
The only missing item from my point of view, was that the race which the Internet Viewers watched, was not projected on the wall of the facility. Without that, it was very difficult for the "on site" attendees to keep track of the results. We saw the cars race live, but didn't know the standings as the race proceeded. I eventually solved that with my small 8 inch Tablet. I watched the race live, then about 5 -10 seconds later I saw the same race on my own screen which showed the results by individual builder, as well as the top most standings as each event class proceeded. That was actually a pretty great way to watch it all take place.
This was a very well run event, especially considering there were 200 cars, all running in a single day, which started about 2:45 PM, and was finished about 8:00 PM. Do the math, that was quite efficient.
