I have a bottle of Red Rocket, it looks like it has dried up some, it is still wet but kind of clumped up. I know it was more liquid before. Can I jist add a little water to it to rejuvenate it? I do not have time to order some more and I want to reprep the wheels for the pack race next week. On a second note for the wheel reprep do I just need to wash the wheels with dawn and then prep with red rocket one time or two. Is there a benefit of prepping using the bore polish first before red rocket. I am not sure how good of a job I originally did.

I suspect that water is not the solvent for which Red Rocket is dissolved in. I'd be leery of using clumpy polish, personally.

Regarding re-prep, my understanding is that Dawn is not preferred since it will strip the wax layer. Instead, people like to use a car wash formulation designed to remove dirt, but leave wax intact.

The red rocket is not dry but does look like it has lost some of the liquid aspect of it. What is a good thing to wash the wheels with if not dawn.

Stir the RR with a tooth pick, you might get a better consistency, and use it. Wash the bores with a little dawn/water solution and dry. Apply the RR, let set for awhile till it hazes over & buff out. Good to go!

John is selling it again - unless you think the latest version is not as good as before, buy some more ! Why take the chance ?

Throw it away! After winning the 2015 nationals, all my cars slowed down. I thought it was just a hangover from the high.
It turned out to be my wax. It too, had gotten clumpy. I stirred in water to smooth it out and thought I was good to go. After two months of frustration, I ordered a new bottle of Red Rocket from DD4H. BAM! The speed was back and the wins started coming. From what I have read about this type of wax, it has an estimated shelf life of 2 years. I just received a new bottle of Red Rocket last week. Out with the old and in with the new.

Good info... I’m gonna label my bottle with a sharpie asap!
