Hey Opa, How's your knee healing? Hope you are doing well. My dad had both his done and he's a new man, just think how fast your cars will be when you have good knees!
=============================

I got this message from "Bulldog" a couple of hours ago, and realized that I have made comments about my "Knee Replacement" operation to many other PW builders on this forum. Anyway I thought it best I bring many of you who know about "this operation" up to date:

The doctors have given me 3 different dates over the past three months, and each time something causes them to postpone. The delays were for important reasons, but in reality, except for medics, the causes were always minor.

I am now scheduled to go in again on May 5th. The most recent delay occurred the March 21. As I went in for the operation. As usual, they took a blood test, and found that my blood is too thin to handle a major surgery, like knee replacements. Thus, the delay.

For those who don't know, I celebrated my 80th birthday this month. I'm actually in fairly good health, except for the pain in the knee. Many wonder why I would spend so much time on what many call "a child's game". I guess it's because it gives me joy, and rather than sit around watching TV all day, I'm building cars, and walking back and forth testing them. PLUS, I LIKE TO ATTEMPT TO BEAT YOU YOUNGER GUYS. And, this so-called Child's Game takes much more knowledge of physics than the majority of outsiders realize. In fact once you even come close to understanding the Physics involved, it still takes a lot of skill to apply what you know to these 7" pieces of wood.

Hope the visit is the one where they take away your pain, just had a uncle replace his knee, it's a ton better procedure than in the past. Hope you get better soon.

Hope everything goes well and you get relief from the pain once things mend. From people I know with family that has gone through it in the last few years they've had positive outcomes. Supposedly they've made a lot of improvement on the procedure and recovery therapy in recent years.

Roger, hope all goes well with your knee surgery in the coming months. Best wishes my friend. My dad will be 80 next year and he still acts like he's 40. Recovery times from injuries are slower, he tells me, but he still plugs along everyday like nothing is going to slow him down. Don't slow down, OK... maybe just for a bit, you'll be fine Roger!

I was hoping to meet you at nationals Opa, but I'll get to watch your car smoke me live! Bulldog race team will keep you in our prayers and it's a blast having an 80 year old beat me in a race!

Roger, wishing you the very best and our prayers are with you. One of our close friends just had a knee replacement last month and is doing great. One thing for sure Roger is we are living in a time especially in the medical field things like this are fine tuned and the out comes are very good. You are going to be fine my friend. I look forward to seeing you at Mid-America 2016 and continuing to learn from you.
