Some of you knew, many of you didn't. I have been limping around now for over 2 years with a bum right knee. I finally decided to face the music and have the knee replaced. My doctor said I had no other choice. I finally had to use crutches full time (the kind of crutches that go just above the wrist). Even with the crutches, I didn't have the ability to walk more than 200 yards with out having to find a place to sit down to let the pain subside. AND even more importantly, I was unable to work on my PW cars for more than an hour or so at a time, and never if I had to kneel.
So on May 5th I went in for a total knee replacement on my right knee.
Today, July 3rd, it has been almost 2 full months since the operation, and I must say it was an experience that I never want to repeat. However, except for the intense pain of the first two weeks after the operation, and performing my re-hab exercises, I am absolutely normal again. That is, absolutely no more pain, and as a part of my continuing re-hab, I walk a half mile every other day, and a mile twice a week. I.e. no limp, no pain! But I must admit I need to gain a lot more pure muscle strength throughout my entire body.
Probably the next time you see me on the internet at an NPWDRL event will be at the Sept. Fire event. And I will not be limping.
Thanks for the prayers and support of those of you who knew.
