Rookie here. I'm sure there are better ways, but on my team SP I rubbed the residual polish in with my finger. After polishing I used alcohol prep pads to clean the outer hub and surrounding areas. The corners are great for getting in the small crevices.
I do have a question to add to this topic. I came across a youtube video where the builder used steel wool to polish such areas. Is this a horrible idea? I was thinking of trying this out but don't want to damage my wheels.
