i saw a video earlier where someone was mixing 99% alcohol and graphite then packing in a wheel with the axle installed. Is this helpful?

I'm just a beginner so this is just my opinion. I saw this video and at first thought it was a cool idea. After I thought about it though I wonder how you'd guarantee that the axle is exactly centered in the graphite/alcohol mix when it hardens. I'd think it would be easy to get a wobbly wheel by doing this wrong. You'd basically be making your axle hole off centered. Again just a novice opinion, take it for what it's worth.

It’s been awhile since I’ve used graphite and I highly recommend learning and using the oil process. But, if your rules state graphite only, make sure you are are using wheel bore polish and polishing the wheel bores per the instructions. After polishing, clean the polish out of the bores with a dish soap solution and a pipe cleaner. Then rinse the wheels out with water. Be careful not to scratch the bore with the wire of the pipe cleaner. Then, add graphite after installing the axle and spin the wheels. Do this over and over several times. The goal is to burnish the wheel bore with graphite. After you assemble the car keep adding graphite and spinning the wheels until race day. If your axles are polished correctly as well, the wheels should spin for a very long time with graphite.

I saw this same video about a year ago. I too went thru this same thought process. Sounded good at first, but when I thought more about it, then I knew there was no way to center the axle hole while packing. I have been visiting this site for almost exactly a year. The amount of knowledge here along with their willingness to share is IMPRESSIVE!!! I have learned so much thanks to this site and the people!!!

Keep reading and you will discover a whole new level . :)
