Care to elaborate? Not like any of us have time to make any changes for this race. They fast enough that you have all your cars running Pinecar wheels?

Always have to wait until the race. Spirit and I can speak for that. I thought I had my car running great on his test track, but on John's it was slower. I had about .02sec gain on test track, .003 gain on Johns track.

Isn't BASX the only class you can't run them in? You start making too many changes to BASX class then you'll just have a slightly modified Street Stock.

Freedom tracks run very different than Best tracks. I believe that's what Spirit has. I know that when I get mine in traffic they slow down drastically.(.015-.020) I have only a single lane Best track that I tune on, so come race day I never know how they are going to react. The best way to tune is to tune that if the car does wiggle it doesn't slow down much.

Pinecar wheel isn't allowed in BASX... And it's far from a modified SS. The wheels are 8.0mm wide a s gotta weigh 2.4. Weighting and setup up is wheres it's at.. And a good prep always helps! I found like 2-3 thousand in my BASX this month... So I should be running like a 73-74 in traffic ...

I knew it was started as a pinecar wheel challenge. So they're performing good enough on your test track to make you wonder if they will actually out perform the BSA wheels. Everyone talks about how much the BSA wheels quality control is bad but I never noticed anyone actually try using one of the other types allowed for the SS classes. I wonder if that is mainly lack of trying or from past results. If you can lathe your own wheels and reem/tap the bores maybe the BSA wheel isn't the best raw wheel to start with.

I sent a new BASX car this month and I'm not really sure how it's going to do. Probably nowhere near JBDs cars but at this point I just want to work my way into the top 15 builders for MOTM finals. I do have one more set of BASX wheels that I just recently bought, maybe put them on a new car or existing car, not sure yet.

Yeah so far I am sitting on the outside of the top 15. The a razor thin difference in time though separating a lot of car the cars above and below the cut off if I remember correctly.

My personal goal is to get my BASX to run 70. I ran a 76 two times last month and it wiggled.

In raw form the Pinecar wheels are JUNK!!!!

After a lot of love on the lathe they turned out pretty nice. There are some advantages over the BSA wheel. The wheels I though would be around .020 slower than a good lathed BSA set. Much to my surprise they where just as fast as my BSA wheels. The car slowed slightly because of a nasty little knick it got in the DOM rear wheel. So for me they are equal to the BSA but a lot more work is needed to get them there. I was plaining on only running this race but no I might have to mess with them a little more.

I wasn't saying I expected my car to run a 2.96 because it did on Spirit's. I took notes on the times and improvements on the times based on his track test times and my first runs on Johns. I then improved dramatically on Spirits track from my tweaks, but barely improved on Johns the second time around.

Adjustment on Sprints track will not be the same as adjusting to a best track

I too was pleasantly surprised. They took some extra effort, but I really like how they run. DD4H worked wonders on my wheels. Thank you John!
