Here's the short version of my position:
- I currently have one car available for proxy racing this month. Absolutely no time to build another. It is made with stock BSA components, because that's what I'm currently experimenting with.
- I didn't have any intention of sending in to NPWDRL this month, but because I was asked, I'll be willing to do the PINKS race thing, provided my opponent limits himself to the same components that I used.
- If my opponent simply cannot abide to build a car without competition axles and trued wheels, I'll have to decline the PINKS and will notify when I'm building a car with non-stock parts.

That's a fair compromise if it isn't this month. I'm not sending a car on BSA axles and untrued wheels against machined axles and trued wheels.
What I'd point out, though, is that my current PWD goal involves exploring the upper limits of stock parts, so that's where my meager building time budget is going. I can offer a stock car to run, but I can't say when I'm going to get around to using non-stock parts.
So if Chips (and the rest of the cheering section) are demanding PINKS now, my terms are right there.

Kinser Racing said:So, will you agree to running a pinks race against Chips in July, on graphite with the BASX rules?
Derbychip said:S good way to base how well your getting your stock parts to run is to build with the after market stuff and compare your time to a similar car you built using stock parts... This will tell you how well the stock stuff is

My current goal is to break 3 seconds with stock wheels and axles. If I manage to do that this month, I'm happy to build a BASX car with aftermarket parts for July. If I don't break 3 seconds, though, I'm going to be still working with stock parts for the next car I build. So...it depends.

I'm all for running the car for benchmarking purposes. But I won't do a PINKS race unless both cars are built with equal parts.
Kinser Racing said:So build the car with equal parts, BASX rules. There's no rule that you personally can't have 2 cars.

Of course there's not a rule, but building one car a month is about as fast as I can go and not eat up too much time for the other obligations that I have. And until I break 3 seconds on stock parts, that's where all of my efforts are going to be focused.
Does that make sense?

I makes sense but I think at this point you may just be making excuses. You have strong opinions about things and that's great, so do I. You were called out and challenged to a pinks race. At this point it's a gentleman's challenge (though you may not feel it was very gentle). Don't you think it's time to step up and give credence to your opinions? After all, that's what men do when they are challenged. A loss is a small price to pay to maintain ones dignity, wouldn't you agree? /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif
"Cowards die many times before their deaths, The valiant never taste of death but once." /images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif
P.S. I don't dislike you, neither am I trying to put you down. I'm just bringing up points that most men here feel. You don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself. Wouldn't you like to prove to yourself that you can and will step up to the challenge?
Mr Chips Racing said:I am accepting VK proposal. Awaiting his rules for the build. Since he has the 1 car in his fleet, I will not claim it as a prize should I win. We will race heads up. No other cars on the line. This is an opportunity for me to go back to basics. I may even just go buy a kit and build whats in it and see if the sub 3 can be broken without modification.
Does it get any more fair than this?

I am not going to put this car into the BASX category against as you call it a stacked field. I will build a BASX by NPWDRL regulations for that race.
