Helped our fellow scout leader this past Sat set up his 6 lane BEST track for another Packs derby and we brought several cars to test the timer and his "new" software to make sure everything was working right with several test runs. Well this is only the 2nd time I think he's had it set up and my car started out running into the stop or falling of the stop onto the floor when in the far right lane. Needless to say I wasnt happy so I ran down there and raised it front and back while leaving it a little higher on the stop side which greatly improved the stopping but not the falling off the track.

My question is how far below the center section of the actual track should the center section of the stop be? We probably had 1/4" drop between the two which worked fine for all the cars except mine which was flying into that stop section

Our race is this Sat using the same track which I will be helping to set up Friday night. I was running my car which will race in the dads race as a tester and we left my sons car at home.(Its faster than mine)so I want to make sure none of these cars go flying off the track.

Thanks for any feedback yall could give me.

Thanks, yeah I'm kinda thinking that when our car is in the far right lane and the stop is lower than the track the FDW hits the top of the stops center section causing it to go airborne.

I got a tip from the local pinewood chairman who is also a great builder. Wipe the graphite off the stop section pads with alcohol. Also you could try applying something to the bottom of your car to help gain more traction on the stop pads.

yeah we always wipe the entire track down twice with alcohol/windex after assembling and before running any cars on it.
