Ok..... I have been waiting for my order.

I left town last weekend (travel home for the weekend) checked the location of my shipment.
Go figure it says out for delivery.

All weekend I could not wait to get back to get my " fenders " !

It's go time ....

Bracketracer,

I recall you telling me on the chat at the last race you would help me with that install. Can you reiterate on that topic for me ? I can't seem to remember how you said to install them.
hmmm

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
OTO

Chris, I was the one that told you to put them behind the wheels after you beat me..........

But seriously. Make sure your car is set up with the wheel/body gap and steer you'll be running. Get a wide rubber band that fits around the wheel. Glue the fender in place with CA glue using the rubber band to keep a small, even gap away from the wheel. I did angle the body in front of the DFW a bit to tilt that one fender. Not really sure if that is necessary, but I think it looks better. I have not attached my fenders yet, I'm still trying to decide how I want to drill the axle holes and I was hoping someone might post their review of how the new fenders are working.

OPA said on here you could put a layer of monokote or ultracote between the body and fender to make it easy to release. Your car is pretty fast, though. I don't know if you'd want to remove the fenders ever!

How about it? Anyone got the new DD4H fenders installed and made a run?

Ok ..... BEHIND the wheels ! Perfect ..... I will have a set on this weekend. Hoping to run it next weekend or through the week.

Looking for a SUB 2.97 ..... wish me luck !

I am a little nervous, I haven't seen or heard from Vizual in a while !?!? He must be hanging out in area 51. Look out fellas he is gunning for all of us.

ps. it's the quiet ones you must look out for ! ( viz you still with us ? )

Got the new fenders in the other day!

Smaller than I thought LOL, but looks very high tech....feels fuzzy but you can take a medium to high grit sandpaper and lightly smooth em out. Mine came with a piece of the same material stuck on it, like a frame from a model set....but easy enough to cut off if you dont want it (you'll want to sand down the spot where that piece was stuck onto to make the surface flat and not have a bump on it or shave that area down with a blade) or I guess you could leave it on and use it as a bar to stick in a small drilled hole on the side of the car as a way to install it...

Very easy to attach and no worries about the spacing gap under the car to make sure the fender doesn't hit the rail. Very light as John stated in his original post on them.

Looks nice (but smaller so it takes a few minutes to get used to em)....

Faster? Just looking at em and the weight and shape id say definitely yes, but for each individual the only way to know is to throw em on your cars and see what happens...

....but the fact that it reduces the hassle of sanding shaping my own fenders or even the wood ones John used to sell but needed to be sanded still or smoothed or adjusted to fit individual cars and then painted.....the removal of that labor alone is worth it!!!!

I have a new Cub Scout making his first car, and the normal super sticky double sided carpet tape was not able to hold the fender to the surface he was working with when he banged it around too much. We tried a little sliver of aluminum tape stuck right on the fender where it will touch the car body. Then we glued it in place with CA to stick the metalized surface to the wood. This is super strong, but you can peel the fender off later. The stick on the back of the metal tape is stronger than most other tapes

That sounds like a great idea. I'm going to have to give that a try.

Sadly no, I am not still with you.

I'm not going to have time to build or race anything in the next 6-8 weeks. We had a rather large meltdown at work and I will be working 7 days a week for the next 2 months "give or take a week". So with all that work, I still need to balance out time to spend with Missy and Alena, so the family and career over wooden cars for awhile.

I may just slap my new fenders on my old green car and send it down but i doubt it. Its not the same feeling when you know you're not picking up any speed "or trying to at least".

But I will be back into it once we get some new people hired in at work and trained. Till then I will be lurking around on the forums biding my time.

Ok I just posted it on your done topic ! Here it is again !
I sure hope someone else wins or this will never be put to sleep !
