PWD Car Display Stand

Alright fellow wood workers. I'll be the first to admit I'm not creative and I'm not the best at working with wood. I want to build a PWD car/trophey display stand for my son for Christmas this year. Need some ideas, plans, pictures or whatever you guys have that'll help me make this happen. He has 3 more years of scouts, 6 trophies and 2 metals as of now. Trophies are not super tall, I think the tallest is 12".
 
I plan to make one to display the cars from each rank. I am not sure if we'll include the trophies. Is so it would probably be the highest level for that year to sit on a shelf above the car. The alternative I was thinking would be a shadow box and would just include a picture of him holding the trophies as a background behind the car. Setting the cars sideways in the box and pitched at an angle.

Check out pinterest. There are usually some good ideas there from people more creative then anything I can usually think of.

+ 1 to setting the cars angled. They built our display case but it's high off the ground and the cars sit flat so you can't see them. I had to make a stand so mine could be viewed. Anybody made something that holds the car vertically so it can be properly displayed.
