Questions about oils? I don't know what I don't know...

I don't usually ream holes until after paint. There's no way to know if you got something in the wheel bore. Did you just put a couple of drops of oil on? If you blew it out and it's running good, it's the night before the race, I'd leave it. And, a big one for me, I don't ever let small kids handle my cars! /images/boards/smilies/wave.gif

Also, it is by my experiences if you have a fast car and it's close to race time don't reprep thinking you will squeeze a few thousandths faster time out your car, because more often than not you may in fact get slower times.

It's been my experience that unless you are sure...and I mean POSITIVE that you can reprep to perfection, you will do more damage than good. 9 times outta 10, between races(month to month) I usually just freespin a wheel, if it is still quiet the week of the race, I don't do nothing to it. If it sounds dry, I still will usually leave it alone, unless i hear a inconsistency in the sound while it's spinnin, then i'll add a drop of oil spin it and listen. If the ticking goes away, perfect, if not, perfect. I ain't comfortable reprepping everything in 15 minutes yet. That is unless it's for the Nationals or the MOTM, then reprep it is. Just my useless knowledge

I could use some help on the wheel prep. I'll follow the video, but I have these skinny things in the middle and I am confused on what they are called. The instructions wiht the kit don't seem to follow the video perfectly and don't know if the vide is oudated now or what.

What is the difference btween a "no scratch applicator" and a pipe cleaner with a anti-scratch cover?

The no scratch is put in to cut down on the chance of pipe cleaner bore killing when you didn't catch the sharp edge of the pipe cleaner before you put it in. The system is still the same either way.
