We recently ran our last Scout race and had a pretty successful run over the last few years. We were only as successful as we were because of the advice of so many people here.
Since we were only running Scout races I didn't invest in the quality tools. We did some things derby build wise that were unconventional. I even got into a bit of a pi%$ing match with the King (Kinser) over our build process. This was unnecessary and my fault. I apologize to Kinser for this and to anyone that read that thread.
I want to thank Cygnus for graciously inviting us to his house to use his track to diagnose a bad wobble we had when run on our Menards homemade track at home. Turns out the wobble was caused by our track, imagine that.
Also, a big thank you to Microbrush for freely sharing his expertise even though we race the same Council. He has awesome no-glue wheel shields that we ran this year with great results.
Late night questions to members here with the Chat function helped me sleep better too. One of these as recently as a few days ago to Quadad.
Over the last few years you guys have been very patient in explaining things that were second nature to you like cant, drift, COM, axle drilling and reprep. Honestly, I think I asked more questions here and spent more time studying this darn derby car stuff than I did getting my 2 yr college degree. Sad, but probably true.
My son really got a kick out of your replies whenever we posted our race results or pics of his newest vision as it came to be built. Thank you for the kind words for my boy.
