I am using oil for the first time and would like to know do's and don'ts. At the moment I am using a 3/8 inch block with dynasty wheels and .091 speed axles with front and rear ghee fenders.
Axles were pretty well polished so I took very little time and polished lightly with 2000 grit wet dry then used a metal polish to finish and string to clean. Traeted axles with pledge let dry for 24 hours ( Now I did notplace them in a ziploc) does that matter ?

Wheels I have been prepped with Nouvice and red rocket I cleaned with a thicker pipe cleaner to make sure there is no residue, When holding it up to light it is shiny as glass. Anything else here since it is oil I am running? I will hit the DFW EDGE with molly-bendeulum.. I have some of Johns graphite. I just wasn't sure which would coat easier.

Axle slots drilled so no need to cant any axle except dfw/ dominant wheel. Right? I will slightly taper my weighting to that side as well. Look to tune about 3-4 inches over 4 feet (is that reasonable?) I don't know what type track we will run on, and we don't get any nights or time to run practice. Been real lucky to always have cars that run pretty well.... this will be the first oil car as well as first fender car...Planned on setting the gap on the fenders by wrapping my wheels in 3 sheets of construction paper, then gluing on the fenders. Is that enough or too much gap. I will tune the dfw then glue the last fender. I welcome all suggestions, been blessed to have TREand Gravityx lead me so far over the last two years.

You don't use pledge with oil. That is for graphite. If you can look for Dupont Chain Saver. Jigaloo is better but hard to find and not necessary really for scout racing.

Clean the axles with window cleaner and wipe dry. To apply the Dupont, first make something to hold the axles for drying. I usually just poke 4 holes in a scrap box. Take 1 axle at a time and spray it thoroughly and shake off excess and set in your holder to dry. Repeat with the other axles. Don't touch the area where the wheels will ride. Now you need to let them sit for a good 15-20mins. This allows the propellant, which melts plastic, to evaporate. Keep in a place free from dust or pets. I usually cover with an upside down bowl or tupperware

Since you added graphite to the edge of your DFW I would inspect the bore to make sure none made its way in there. You want to make sure all your bores are free of any debris or lint before mating with the axles and applying oil. Forced air works pretty good at getting any lint from your pipe cleaners out of the bore.

Once all that is done you can add the axles to the wheels and add the oil.

These wheels are brand new dynasty wheels never raced.. I was only going to apply the molly to the edege of the dominate wheel. I have thorougspryhly polished the wheel with 1k , 1500 2k and 2500 wet dry paper..polished with brasso, and burnished with leather. and cleaned with a string , before applying the suggested dupont . I have them drying in woode block for the time. Should I wipe them off before installing? They look like there is a light white coat on them now.

You answered the wheel question at first but for the rest you're talking about what you did to the axles, right?

They will have a film. If any have a big gob that you're worried about you can always clean it off with windex and try again.

Yes sorry... little sleepy.. it was the axle that I polished.. There is not a big gob... but whatI would say is the equivalent of a wax coat on it.
