Has anyone used, or have an opinion on these track panels?

I want to put together a test track, at home. I know Bestrack would be the obvious choice, but I'm trying to do this on a budget, as to not anger my bride. Building a wooden base for this, wouldn't be difficult. With the panels and wood, it'd still be quite a bit cheaper than a Bestrack.
I'm going to try the el-cheapo stopwatch timer with roller switches. Even if it's not completely accurate, I have a baseline from our first car, and I'll have a real world comparison to know if we're getting better or worse.
