Just wondering if any of you use a set screw to lock the dfw axle in place. Last season district race had some heavy handed kids doing the staging and i'm sure alignment was " accidently " moved. I was pondering drilling a hole up from the bottom of the car adding epoxy putty, drilling then tapping. Any opinions?

I can say most of pro's don't use set screws. We just drill the front wheel hole to the nearest 1000th of an inch to make sure it's nice and tight.
You could try and place a piece of dental floss in the axle hole before installing the axle to snug up the fit to help reduce chances of an accidental adjustment.
Here is an awesome thread about locking down axles with a set screw. I don't use any type of locking mechanism, the axles fit snug enough in the axle hole using a #43 drill bit and John's Dynasty 92X axles.

Yep saw that article and its awesome, just thought it would be a lot more cost effective to use epoxy putty that can be drilled and tapped. While I believe the alignment may have been slightly altered, it could be that the graphite lube dropped off resulting in a slower time in the final race with all the marbles on the line. The previous run set a new track record and that time was much faster than the 1st place winners time. Also, dental floss??? Really? Lol now that could be considered redneck........
If your worried about accidental adjustment to the dfw just drill a tiny hole under the car at the axle towards the point. 1 drop of ca. And your good. If you cut a k groove you can use that to twist the axle loose to remove.
Don't be silly! Rednecks don't use floss on their tooth.
