It's been quite sometime since I have used a bandsaw and was looking to refresh my knowledge of setting one up correctly. While scrounging through youtube and woodworking forums I came across this video. I think this is a good refresher, again, it's been sometime since I set one up, and will more than likely try this procedure to do so. Brings some light to some old way of doing things. Looks fairly easy and precise.

Thanks for that video- IT reminded me to go check my setup. Somehow it was way off and I was not getting smooth cuts and the blade was wandering into the grain when I tried anything but a straight cut.

Got it all redone and it is back to being a great tool again. Just bad habits by not going through all the steps. Sort of like taking short cuts with a car and then not getting speed./images/boards/smilies/crazy.gif

SHOW OFF!!! I'd like to see him build a PWD car...
cool
I wish that was the band saw I bought the frist time.

Talk about timing! Just bought a new band saw this past weekend and spent close to five hours setting it up and tweaking the adjustments. Had to go to a woodworking forum to find out how b/c the user manual was worthless. Could've just watched this vid and gotten it done in under an hour.

must be time for new saws. we decided to add some curves. Had always used table saw to make wedges.
