i just got done printing up the shipping labels, i had a problem, i just got done talking to a customer service girl, here is the whole chat.

Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...

Thank you for contacting USPS Live Chat. An agent will be with you momentarily.

Christine: Hello brian, my name is Christine.

brian: hi

Christine: I understand you are having an issue with printing a label. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. I will be happy to assist you.

Christine: May I have your username to ensure there are no error in your account?

brian: when i go to edit the address, i do not see a option to remove the phone number.

brian: it is *********

Christine: One moment please while I research your request.

Christine: Account is good.

Christine: What browser are you using?

brian: i am trying to send a box to my friend, then print a label for him to send it back to me.

brian: firefox

Christine: Ahh, So are you trying to use his information as the return address?

brian: yes.

brian: should i not?

Christine: I am m sorry the return address can only be the address that is in your account, that is why you are receiving that error. Click-N-Ship is not designed to make return labels, although you can save the label as a PDF and email them.

brian: i am in a race league for pinewood derby cars, every month we get between 20 and 30 boxes and i would say 90% of them have pre printed return labels in the box, so i know it can be done.

Christine: I know but you cannot change the return address any longer with the new upgrade.

brian: oh, when did this go into effect?

Christine: The upgrade occurred on Sunday.

brian: ok. so it will have my address as the return address?

Christine: That is correct.

brian: and that is not going to cause a problem?

Christine: This is to ensure that anything that may be lost or become undeliverable can be returned to the sender.

Christine: It should not.

brian: thank you

Christine: No problem.

Christine: Is there anything else I can assist you with today brian?

Input Area so now for some reason the return shipping label must have your ( the person getting the cars back) address. this is my first time i have used this, so some of you may already know this. but the lady said it was a new update to their system. just giving everyone a heads up.

i have no idea why. i tried everything i could and it never worked.

Same thing happened to me, Brian. The only thing I found was an option to show that I was shipping it from a ZIP code different from the return address (my address). There was a price differential of about 40 cents depending upon whether I selected that option or not. If I hadn't put in John's ZIP code, the return postage would not have been enough. So you might want to be sure you have that option selected. If the postage amount is different between sending the package and returning the package, you probably didn't select that option and your postage will be insufficient. Since your address is the return address, that probably just means you will get the package with postage due...

I also could not get it to work. They wanted to sell me stamps at the post office, to put in the box. The whole thing would be pasted with stamps. Could you see a postal worker counting them all? lol
That is Xactly what happened to me...Stamps! Luckily it was only one car,and unbeknownst to me they had a 5dollar stamp. From now on I think we should just take piX of our cars and email them to John and race them that way hahaha and to "L" with the usps

I just printed my labels at USPS.com and had no problems creating a return label from John to myself.

I just used the farthest out date listed on drop down, according to postal employee I talked it does not matter when you ship as long as they get their money.

I did the same thing last month and had no problems getting my cars back.

Yeah, you can still do everything sensible except you have to pick a "too soon" return shipping date - no big deal, that part hasn't changed. When you are working up the return label and it pre-fills in your address as the FROM, just click the EDIT box and select John's name/address from your USPS address book. Then remember to click on the 'mailing from a different zip code' box and everything should be kosher. I just did all that and it worked out OK. I decided to not add anything for insurance - thought you got some free - I shouldn't of mentioned it because now it will come back to bite me !!
