Should i try

hmmm... that's kind of a bummer. I saw an early 80's Mazda something or other hotrod that while aero-shaped and not a vette... I just don't want to do a 80's Mazda.
There was a funnycar or 2 promod-ish types of older early era muscle cars. But still the face is just not areo like a vette. I did see a 70 Torino I could make a Nascar nose for tho... again I say... hmmmm. Anyone done the Daytona/Superbird yet? Would like to do the Torino to be a bit different.
Sounds like a fun challenge... tho one that prolly won't get a trophy but will at least be fun to try.

The Daytonas/Superbirds aren't legal @ the NPWDRL. The max length is 8.25".

I'd say to make a car you like, and work on improving it. Once you've maxxed out the car, you'll have learned a lot, and if you need/want to, you can then pick another car that you think would be better.

It's a fun class, and quite cool to see them racing.

oh yeah... once I found all of John's previous years class vids I found Street Rod and was glued to the screen until every car ran. It was an older vid with vettes of course but more muscle cars than what's running now. That was real fun to watch. Couldn't stop until I watched every second of that vid. lol
I might have to give it a go. I have plans/priorities first which is turning our churches Awana GP into the most fun AND fair race for the kids EVER... then maybe with skills learned and honed a bit I'll take a shot at the leagues. Want to do Street Stock and of course Street Rod. We'll see...

Jimmy I have to say it was super fun building and racing. when you get time just start racing. you cant do to much worse then my first attempt. just go in and keep a good attitude about it. remember these other guys are legit pro's.
I know that's what scares me! LOL I will though. You are right. I am hoping to also build skills with more research as I prep for making our churches Awana GP better and help the others there. I will be posting a full report on last weekends event and my kids efforts tomorrow. But again you are right... like I had said earlier I love how you jumped right in with both feet so I'll just have to step up and do the same. ;)
