sneek peak of VENOM

here is my Street Stocker, named Venom, the paint was a experiment, i wanted a snake skin look and found a plastic thred protector we trashed at work and cleaned it up. it did not want to lay flat, so i tacked it in place.

next i sprayed the blue "undercoat" on it.

then i took off the mesh, i ended up going just a touch too heavy on the blue.

then i hit it with the red. i must have missed a oil spot on the mesh, as there is a small spot right in the middle that did not take the paint too well.

overall for a first try with the process i am happy with it, what do you guys think, the clear is drying now, will post final pic tonight.

You may want to go to your local fabric store or hobby store to find a more suitable material. Here is one example...

Very NICE Brian!!! Another way to get that reptilian look is to spray the main color you want with a lacquer paint, then when it dries, spray an acrylic enamel over it and it will cause the paint to shrink causing it to crack everywhere. Then wetsand it down il its as smooth as you can get it without removing the reptilian look, and recoat it with a clear coat of lacquer, and you will have that look you are after, and the finish will be smooth. Take care, and again; very nice job on Venom..I love that name!!
