My son is a AOL scout and in his last year of cub scouts today finally won 1st in Webelos.....Won Overall District Championship and set a new scout track record at 3.0246

Thanks to all the people and great info we've found online he finally got on top after only having placed once before in a District Race...that being 3rd place 2 years ago.

My daughter this year in Tigers won 2nd place at District and first overall in our Pack race. She had the previous track record at 3.0425 and during her first 2 runs at District today broke that record twice....only to have the next scout break her record lol.

At the end my son won Overall District with a 3.0350 average compared to second place of 3.0399

Great job, congrats!

Now I gotta get a proper jig for drilling my bodies for axle cant and I should break the 3 sec barrier. I currently use the old drill bit under one side of the body is a regular scout shop body jig.

I have this same Jig. Just got it, and it's helped a lot. My builds have gained speed. Wish I had known about it earlier. Of course I want to invest in a REAL jig as well, but this one has done it's job and was affordable.

Funny thing was watching dad's trying to get their cars right at our weight limit of 5oz+.04......they were so worried about it and explaining that they weighed car at work on such and such scale. I would calibrate our scale in front of them and then place my certified 5oz weight on my scale that would read 5.000

My son's car was 4.95oz so just goes to show that proper weight placement goes a long way
