Need some help. Tonight when inserting my axles the car split. This is my first build and now very frustrated that this happened. Any advice on how I can fix this? I have 7 seven bodies that are all cut the same and hoping that this will not happen on all of them.

Before you cut the bodies thin, use an axle with pliers to work it in and out of the holes to create a looser fit. It relieves the stress and allows easy in and out axles.

+1 as Mr. Chips. for remaining cars: If using slots I used to use a coping saw to relax a grove, especially with pinecars. If drilled can try reaming with same bit you drilled with. I guess before I learned other ways I also drilled the slots. A 5/64 is still smaller the a bsa nail but works ok on slots. A number #43 is a closer fit if you have a full set.

This has happened to us and on the night before a race. My son had already gone to bed so I don't think he heard the stream of expletives from the shop. After calming down I carefully CA glued the crack, ratchet clamped, then relieved the hole again, while still clamped after about a half hour cure, this time with an old 93. Worked like a charm. Couldn't even tell it was cracked in the first place.
