Steel Wool polishing

I've been searching for something on polishing/cleaning a new Best Track...there doesn't seem to be anything guys are doing with the mid-section (between the joints) when they come new from the factory. After you get the joints and rails aligned, cleaned up, filed, sanded, etc, are guys just cleaning with windex/simple green and then pledge? Any polishing the first time with Brasso or anything special?

Bullet, don't use anything with ammonia like Windex. Simple Green is fine and follow with Pledge. Some guys polish the track with Mothers aluminum polish, some use Nevr Dull wadding.
BR, thanks! I have never actually seen a new track, maybe it will come with a fairly smooth overall finish anyway. I will see how it looks when it gets here, then decide if it needs something.

It comes fairly smooth (except for the ends where it's been cut and even those weren't too bad on mine). There were a few marks especially in the curves from the forming process I guess. I went over those with 1000 grit paper on a block to smooth them. I plan to polish mine in the future but it's pretty time consuming from what Zeeb told me so I've been putting it off!
