Hey guys,
We have 2 cars that have finally runn below our 2.999 goal. I am trying to put them away til Febuary.
We have other cars that I am trying to get up to speed but this is a safety net kind of situation for the Scout races.
The cars only have 4 runs on them "1 race", so my plan is to put them away, If we don't get anything else up to speed I would just add graphite on the current prep & tune.
I,m sure they are fast enough today to get past the pack race & district but we spent a year picking up .03 & I'm afraid to give them back to UPS.
We won the South East Florida Counsel race last year by .003 with only 4 cars in our range. The .03 is a pretty good gain but I don't want to lose it doing something stupid " which I am capable of".

What should I do & is this even a good idea ?

Lol Jupiter you crack me up. .03 is huge. Only I could blow that kind of advantage. You have been working hard and practicing and testing and tuning with some of the best in the country. Pretty sure you should easily repeat your speed gains. But if you must ask I dive into the realm of ridiculous with you here I go.....maybe you could drop in a moisture absorption pack in the box, and seal the whole box inside a vegetable bag from the produce section of your nearest grocery store. Then pack them in a padded box wrapped with a plastic bag and stored 4" above the floor. You could also tie them to a hook in a discrete location in the house.
Im just joshing I would just keep building and racing and repeating your success....remember the larger your bore to axle clearances the tighter the gaps can be.....burnish the bore and wax your axles....

Wait wait wait.... Are you saying the cars you just went sub 3 with in the league are graphite cars? If so, nice job.

We have had scout cars running graphite that have sat on the shelf for a year and ran nearly identical times when we put them back on the track. Graphite seems to hold up well over time in my experience. That being said I would keep them off their wheels and in their shipping boxes and I would think they will be fine.

Ha Ha Chuck, I crack me up to.
My wife just grunts at us when we tape off a tuning board on the kitchen table.

Look, I've shot some cars down the driveway when they get away from me, so anything is possible around here.
They seem to pick up speed right before they go in the road.
