I am in for a street rod build.

I would love to see some body attachment pics.

I have a couple ideas and I have seen partials of the drywall screw method on the sides

Whatever method that you decide to go with, be sure not to go too low with your body or the rear bumper WILL drag in the transition curve! Been there, done that, and got that t-shirt.

From one Indian Motorcycle guy to another... I have only built one SR and I will tell you that now that the rules have been amended for different bodies, that leaves a lot more room for creativity and engineering for that. I did not want to put screws through my car after my first one melted and so I glued balsa on the bottom of the shell and then used one screw to attach to the pinewood block to that. Also, QT and 5K have posted several pics of their mounts if you haven't already seen them... Good to have met you at nationals...Great job on your build!!!

My wood chassis/frame were always cut in a ladder style to eliminate weight and then a sheet of 3 ply birch plywood was glued on the bottom and cut to fit around wheels and fill in gaps etc... Then I would mount balsa blocks to the plywood that would be located one under the hood area and one under the trunk lid area. The height of them and the angle of the top of blocks depended on the car itself. I then would epoxy Velcro to the balsa blocks and the corresponding piece to the body under hood and trunk. The sides of the body would also snap over the plywood for a little extra hold. Made it real easy to take body on and off the chassis. Held super strong. Never had one bit of trouble.

Thanks Chief, it was nice meeting you to. I can't wait to see some of the many pics I saw you relentlessly taking.

Yes, it is nice that the bodies opened up and the 4th wheel has lifted.

I am a little excited about building a Street Rod.

Carolina, glad to hear someone is using Velcro as that crossed my mind as an option.

I mount the body to the chasis (wood block) similar to the way that Carolina Gravity described and to strengthen the balsa, I like to brush on some aeroshell or similar product. Be sure that your setup is secure enough to avoid any wheel/body contact going down the track. By the way what's up Carolina? good to see one of the Greats on the forum.

I still like to see what's going on. All you guys have gotten really fast. Maybe sometime in the future I'll have to send something in for ol times sake.
