I finished the body on my street rod, but I’m getting aggravated at the lining up of the wheels. When I mocked it up, it appeared the standard wheel base would work. I’m also doing the mustang, I see you haven’t attached the side scoops yet, are those required?

Do you narrow the block to fit? If so how much?

You are ahead of me. As for the scoops, well thats what happens when you think you have all the parts removed from the kit and I let the my 2 year old daughter aka Shop Buddy play with the rest. Yeah, I can't find them now.

Ill be working with the base today. Ill see what is needed, you are right though when I mocked the base, the 1 3/4" seems to be to much, specially since I planned to add wood to car of body and the screws to hold it all together. Unless I decided to just make it a tad wider there and just use screws from the outside to attach the body to the base.

I was going to mess with mine again tonight also. We can compare notes tomorrow. I had a block cut and weighted, but I’m thinking of starting a new one.

well with all the Eleanor talk, I added stripes.

My plan was to have the paint scheme of my old 91 5.0 Coupe. It was Medium Titanium Grey with Dodge Vipers Intense Blue Pearl for stripes.

it's an old scanned in pic. /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

But I like the Eleanor look better, it fits it better.

Derik Racing - you can see my base sitting there. Using some Basswood, all I had left laying around without having to drive to the big city to get different wood. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif back to the shop I go...

Nice 91 LX notch . I had 2 of these cars a 88 Lx five speed in black. Had it for 4 months, then crashed. Then a convertible 92LX In white with black top. With the same cobra R rims also. I had that cars for 10 years it was a mint ride. I loved that car, but had to sell when my son was 2, eight years ago. Still want that car back. Luckily I have the vin## to look it up. So I know the area its in, but don't know who owns it. Or I would have bought it back by now.

I miss mine too, it's the one I wish I would of never got rid of. /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif But that $12500 was a nice down payment on the house.

Well I got the car 90% done today. The stance is low and I mean low. If I didnt have a track I wouldn't believe it would fit. /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif I wanted the front down more but there just isn't anymore room under that front fender.

Derik Racing, PM me...I'll tell you how I did this, and trust me this body has to be the worst to use. The fender wells curve in so much this isn't easy. At one point I was thinking I should of went with a big MOPAR! /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

I really like how it turned out. It looks like it is launching off the line. Makes me miss my two mustangs.
